December 5, 2006, Pawleys Island, S.C. — Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort has been named one of Tennis Magazine’s “50 Best Tennis Resorts” in 2006. The sixth annual Tennis Magazine rankings were based upon reader surveys that examined the abilities and amenities of various tennis resorts and their staff. Criteria used in the ranking include the range and caliber of the teaching program, the condition of the clubhouse and courts, the game-matching, tournaments and round robins, quality of the lodging and restaurants, children’s programs and monetary value.
The Litchfield Racquet club is one of the many outstanding recreational amenities at the Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. The largest tennis complex in the area, The Litchfield Racquet Club featured 17 superbly maintained Har-Tru clay courts, including three which are lighted. The club is run by a staff of USPTA/USPTR certified tennis professionals who are on hand for assistance and instruction, both private and group. Daily round robins and “Stroke of the Day” clinics are available year round. The club also offers a fully stocked pro shop with the latest in tennis equipment, as well as equipment repair and analysis.
