Bringing the Old South to Life at Dixie Stampede

North, south, east or west, it doesn’t matter where you come from because Dixie Stampede is sure to bring everyone together for a good ole southern meal and live entertainment. Owned and operated by country legend Dolly Parton, Dixie Stampede is located on 82nd Avenue in Myrtle Beach. With three other locations, in Orlando, Fla.; Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and Branson, Mo., Dixie Stampede is always a crowd favorite.
With a cast of talented actors, dancers and stunt riders, Dixie Stampede amazes its audience with American-themed songs and dances, special effects, beautiful costumes, magnificent horses and stampeding buffalo. Visitors from all over the world come to enjoy the fun-filled adventure at the Dixie Stampede.
From the moment the doors open, guests feel as if they have stepped back in time to the 1860’s. Ladies dressed in beautifully-detailed period dresses escort guests to their seats and direct their attention to the large southern mansion that serves as the focal point of the arena. Once seated, the server, dressed in either a Union or Confederate uniform, details the feast about to be served.
A truly southern meal, guests of Dixie Stampede are served a juicy Cornish hen, creamy vegetable soup, roasted pork and a steaming potato wedges as well as piping hot scratch-made biscuits and sweet apple turnovers. Vegetarians need not worry as Dixie Stampede is happy to offer a vegetarian meal at your request.
When preparing to dine, guests will notice something is missing from the table - the silverware! When you come to Dixie Stampede, it is okay to eat with your hands and get a little messy!
After dinner, the Dixie Stampede show goes back in time to the days when southern gents courted their southern belles. The story unfolds during 90 minutes of dancing, singing, trick riders, a ring of fire and friendly competition between the North and the South. People really get into the spirit of the holidays and that’s what makes the show so exciting.
Beginning in November, Dixie Stampede changes pace and offers one of the Grand Strand’s finest Christmas shows. The whole arena is transformed into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights, falling snow and a dreamy fog. The nativity scene and ice skating performances are sure to take your breath away as every aspect of Christmas is captured, from the singing angels in the sky to Santa Claus on a sleigh. Donning elf costumes, the servers compete in a friendly rivalry between the North and South Pole and guests are invited to cheer for their favorite elf.
Participants may be pulled right out of the audience to take part in some friendly competition with a guest on the rival side. Dixie Stampede is full of surprises from ostrich races to chicken chases, to the grand finale flag pass.
Many people return to Dixie Stampede each year because they enjoy it so much.
“We’ve been bringing our kids here since they were babies,” said Carol from Virginia. “They love the Christmas show and get excited each time they know that we are coming to Myrtle Beach. The Dixie Stampede Christmas Show has become a family tradition for us.”
