July 22, 2008, Pawleys Island, S.C. – Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort will play host to the second annual “Just the Girls: Coast & Cuisines in South Carolina” weekend, October 10-12, 2008. Editors from Coastal Living, Cooking Light, Cottage Living and Southern Living will present the latest in food, gardening and decorating to the “Just the Girls” guests.(br>
The inaugural 2007 event sold out with 200 participants from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan and Georgia, with a waiting list of 100 additional people.
The weekend kicks off Friday, October 10 with a “Welcome to the Coast” evening reception at the Litchfield Country Club featuring the favorite recipes of the magazine’s food editors. On Saturday, October 11, Coastal Living senior food and entertaining editor Julia Rutland shares her secrets in creating leisurely breakfasts at the “Rise-and-Shine Breakfast.” Later that day, Cottage Living assistant decorating editor, Turner Carroll, demonstrates exciting ideas for decking the halls this season at the “Cottage Living Holiday Favorites Decorating Seminar.” The night wraps up with the “Cocktails in the Courtyard and Cooking Light Supper Club Celebration” where Cooking Light executive chef Billy Strynkowski will share easy cooking tips to be tried at home, “behind the scenes” kitchen secrets and a lively cooking demonstration.
On Sunday, October 12, “Just the Girls” guests will be treated to “Garden Party-Breakfast with Southern Living” as Southern Living associate garden editor Rebecca Reed shares her green thumb secrets on everything from planting the perfect container to making yards photo ready in a flash.
The two-night getaway package starts at $361 and includes lodging at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, Friday night reception, Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch.
