Take Me Out to the (Pelicans) Ballgame!
Weather warming, birds chirping, and fly balls flying: spring has officially welcomed the 2014 Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball season. And there's no better place to catch America's favorite past time than the Grand Strand's very own TicketReturn.com Stadium, home of Myrtle Beach's very own Myrtle Beach Pelicans. And if you're a guest staying at Long Bay Resort, your only 5 miles away from catching all the action…and maybe even a foul ball!
A Class A minor-league franchise of the Texas Rangers, the Pelicans kick off their 2014 season with a weekend series against the Salem Red Sox at TicketReturn.com Stadium on 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach across from Broadway at the Beach. The full weekend will include numerous on and off the field promotions, not to mention some o fthe best fireworks in Myrtle Beach.
Although opening night has historically been the busiest night at the ballpark, the crowds thin out for the remainder of the weekend series and fans can participate in some of the many fun and hilarious promotions the team puts on as an added element of excitement. Some of the opening weekend promotions include:
Friday: Harry Potter Night
Saturday: Superhero Night
Sunday: A baseball gear giveaway to the first 1,000 kids through the gates.
For the remainder of the season, the promotions continue with fun event slike annual Bark at the Park Night when fans can bring their four-legged friends to the game and the all time fan-favorite dog and monkey rodeo, featuring chimps riding on German shepherds.
