Millions of visitors come to Myrtle Beach each year for the sun, surf and sand. But at the popular Broadway at the Beach complex, crowds come for a different kind of S.A.N.D.

Although technically not located on the beach, Broadway at the Beach's brand of S.A.N.D. – which stands for “Shopping, Attractions, Nightlife and Dining” – makes it the most visited location on the Grand Strand, primarily because it has something for everyone.

Whether you're into shopping at the more than 50 stores, dining at more than a dozen restaurants, seeing some of the area's top attractions or taking a pub crawl around the Celebrity Square district, you'll find it and a whole lot more on the 350-acre property. Here are some of the highlights Broadway at the Beach offers in each category:

* Shopping: Featuring everything from major national outlets to local mom-and-pop shops, Broadway has four distinct districts with their own themes – New England, Caribbean, Charleston Boardwalk and Heroes Harbor. Each area is lined with stores selling apparel, footwear, accessories, jewelry, gifts, souvenirs and some of the most off the wall merchandise around. The eclectic collection of shops like Tiki Jim’s, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Klig’s Kites, the Man Cave Store, Palmetto Paradise, Retro Active, and So Unique make Broadway your one-stop spot for everyone on your shopping list, and be sure to take home something special to remind you of your Myrtle Beach vacation.

* Attractions: Why shuttle all over the Grand Strand when you can visit many of the Grand Strand's best attractions in one place. Located within the Broadway complex are some of the most popular attractions in Myrtle Beach. Ripley's Aquarium provides family fun with live exhibits and interactive displays; the Pavilion Nostalgia Park features carnival rides for all ages; WonderWorks is a wacky, upside-down world where science meets fun; and The Palace Theatre offers Broadway-style acts, shows and concerts. Free fireworks shows are held every Tuesday and Friday night during the summer months and live entertainers roam the property performing for crowds. Just across the highway are several new attractions, such as the Hollywood Wax Museum and the Broadway Grand Prix go-kart racing and entertainment complex.

* Nightlife: When the sun goes down, the action heats up at Broadway's Celebrity Square district. Featuring a dozen clubs in the space equivalent to a city block, Celebrity Square has hot spots for dancing, live music, comedy, country, and classic watering holes. Sip frozen drinks at Fat Tuesdays, catch the big game at Broadway Louie's sports bar, boot-scoot your way around the dance floor at Rodeo, sing along with the pianists at Crocodile Rocks, and boogie like its 1979 at Revolutions. No matter your scene, you can find it Broadway. Best of all, a cab stand behind the Hard Rock Café allows for easy access to and from a fun night at Broadway.

* Dining: A stroll around the Broadway at the Beach complex is like a culinary trip around the world. Featuring a wide range of international cuisine, as well as Myrtle Beach staples of seafood and Southern cooking, everyone's taste buds can be satisfied at Broadway. Enjoy Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Caribbean and a hodgepodge of American eateries, such as Liberty Steakhouse, Key West Grill and Sweet Carolina's Smokehouse. Even more dining options have sprung up in the neighborhood surrounding Broadway, such as Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse, Phillips Seafood Buffet, Mellow Mushroom Pizza and more. You can eat your way around the world without moving your car.
